I am currently an EC (Special Education) teacher/Department Head at Garinger HIgh School is Charlotte, North Carolina. Since I am an EC teacher, my content area changes from year to year but this academic year I taught self-contained American History and co-taught 10th grade English. For the most part though, I have taught the self-contained social studies classes because of my dual-certification of Special Education and History. Although I currently reside in North Carolina, I was born in Brooklyn and raised in the gorgeous Hudson Valley region of NY. It's really hard to describe yourself in one word but since that word would not be indecisive, I'll go with resourceful. Three interesting things about me would be that I visited every state, I've been zorbing, and the first trophy I ever won was for egg rolling. I firmly believe that a great classroom is where every single person wants to be there and is willing to learn and share. This will be my second GEA trip as I was able to go to Grand Escalante while waiting for Finland; I am so EXCITED to be able to go to Finland in 2022! One of my favorite adventures is the first one that I ever took on my own which was to New Zealand (which is also where I went zorbing :-). New Zealand was a long time ago and I'm not sure where those pictures are so I attached a picture of a more recent adventure which is near and dear to my heart because Hawaii was the 50th state that I visited.
